ABOUT ME

My name is Dylan, and I am a self-taught artist born in Canada. I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Criminology, but art has always been something I would do or think about in my daily life. In 2018, I decided to make a change. I had all of these ideas in my head and desperately needed a creative outlet. Along with getting my university degrees I also decided to devote a lot of my time to honing my technical art skills. I would watch hundreds of videos, read textbooks, and just practice constantly with the goal of having my skill match my imagination.
Over the years, I’ve experimented with various mediums and techniques, but in 2024, I found myself particularly drawn to painting. While I primarily work with acrylics and oil, I often incorporate other mediums to complement my work.
Much of my art is inspired by personal life experiences, but I also draw inspiration from music, poetry, and books. My goal as an artist is to tell stories through my pieces, using symbols to convey meaning while still maintaining a straightforward narrative. I believe that art should be open to multiple interpretations, which is why I aim for my work to be seen and understood from different perspectives.
I am devoted to constantly putting in the work to refine my work even further, and I do this by incorporating my technical skills and intertwining it with my own twist of chaos and creative freedom. There isn't a day that goes by where I don't think about art. It's my love, obsession, and my passion.
